What has happened
Bihar School Examination Board released Bihar STET 2026 notification P.R. 183/2026 on 14 August 2026, following an Education Department letter dated 11 August 2026. Applications opened 17 August and close 31 August 2026, the deadline you’re reading this against.
STET is a teacher eligibility test for Classes 9 to 12, not a recruitment against fixed posts, so there is no vacancy number attached to this cycle. Clearing it gives a certificate valid for life, which candidates later use in separate teacher recruitment drives.
What changed this year
This cycle was notified and closed inside three weeks, in mid to late August, well ahead of STET 2025’s September to October window. Fee, qualifying marks and age brackets carry over unchanged from 2025.
No official applicant count has been published for 2026 yet. For comparison, STET 2025 had 4,42,214 candidates appear (2,46,415 in Paper I, 1,95,799 in Paper II), and STET 2024 had 4,23,822 appear across both papers.
How to apply

The signature is scanned, written by hand in running script rather than block or capital letters, black ink on white paper, JPG/JPEG. [UNVERIFIED: exact file-size limit, sources conflict between 10 to 50 KB and 50 to 200 KB]

- Save both files as JPG or JPEG before attempting upload
