What has happened
IBPS notified CRP PO/MT-XVI on 1 July 2026 and CRP CSA-XVI (Clerk) on 1 August 2026. Both application windows were extended once: PO from 21 to 26 July, Clerk from 21 to 28 August. Clerk then got a two-day edit window, 4 to 5 September, which has also closed.
PO vacancies moved twice after the original notification: 6,715 indicative posts on 1 July, revised to 7,365 on 20 July, then to 7,565 on 27 August after UCO Bank added 200 posts. Clerk/CSA vacancies have stayed at 11,403 since the original Annexure I and have not been revised.
What changed this year
The clerical post is now officially Customer Service Associate (CSA), not Clerk, though the exam and process are unchanged. Both notifications carry a mandatory live photo capture step in addition to the usual scanned upload, done through your browser’s webcam or by scanning a QR code with your phone. IBPS Clerk Mains also picked up five extra Quantitative Aptitude questions this cycle (160 questions for 200 marks, up from 155).
How to apply
- PO and Clerk are separate applications with separate fees; there’s no combined form.
- Register fresh on ibps.in for each exam (no permanent OTR); you get a provisional registration number and password.
- Upload photo, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration in one sitting, then pay online by card, net banking or UPI.
- Clerk additionally asks for your State/UT preference and proof of local language proficiency.
Photo and signature
These are the CSA-XVI Annexure IV specifications, read from the official notification. IBPS normally uses the same sheet across its CRP cycles, so PO candidates should still check their own notification.
- Photo: 4.5 × 3.5 cm, 200×230 px preferred, 20 to 50 KB, JPG/JPEG, colour, white or light background, no cap or dark glasses. A live capture is also mandatory.
- Signature: black ink on white paper, 140×60 px preferred, 10 to 20 KB, not in capital letters.
- Left thumb impression: black or blue ink on white paper, 240×240 px at 200 DPI, 20 to 50 KB. If your left thumb is unavailable, the notification specifies a fallback order (right thumb, then fingers, then toe).
- Handwritten declaration: English only, your own handwriting, black ink on white paper, 800×400 px at 200 DPI, 50 to 100 KB, not in capital letters.

Before you upload
- Scan at 200 DPI in true colour, then crop to the pixel dimensions above before you compress
- Sign and write the declaration in running hand, IBPS rejects capital letters on both
- Keep your left thumb impression on plain white paper, not lined or coloured
- Copy the declaration text exactly, word for word, including your own name in place of the blank
- Have your SSC/10th certificate scanned as a PDF, A4 page size, under 500 KB, ready before you start
